In her early 30s, Erica faced challenges stemming from poor choices, dangerous relationships, and substance abuse. Seeking support from various avenues, she found solutions lacking. Recognizing the gap in comprehensive assistance, she founded Jubilee.
Jubilee focuses on creating community-driven permanent supportive housing, aiming to end homelessness for families and households. The organization operates as a home care agency and property management company. It provides in-home assistance for seniors, and individuals with disabilities, and manages affordable housing units.
Erica also discusses Jubilee’s partnerships with organizations like Christ Community Church Missions, The Fledge, and Cedar River East, emphasizing the connection between youth homelessness and gun violence.
Jubilee’s approach encompasses seven areas of support: permanent housing, essential needs, legal and financial assistance, and mentorship. Erica stresses fostering healthy, positive support systems for transitioning individuals.
Listen as Erica shares her journey of compassion and change, and learn how to be part of the movement to end homelessness.
